We have just been slammed by another hurricane in the Southeastern USA. This one named Katrina will never be forgotten. It may be the worse hurricane ever recorded in the United States. These devastating annual events unleash torrents of destructive energy measurable only in terms of megatons.
Would it be possible to harness these forces at least in part early in their birth cycle and reduce their awesome power? Might not it also be possible to harvest some of this power to reduce our dependence on oil based energy products?
